Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth — FAQ

Quick answers to the most-asked Cyber Sleuth questions — platforms, the Complete Edition, digivolution, starters and more.

About the game

Is Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth good?
Yes — it reviewed around 76 on Metacritic and is widely recommended as the best modern Digimon RPG to start with. Deep monster-collecting and a stylish story; its main weakness is repetitive dungeons. See our review.
What is the Complete Edition?
The Complete Edition bundles both Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and its sequel, Hacker's Memory, on Nintendo Switch and PC. It's the best-value way to play. See Release Date & Platforms.
How many Digimon are in the game?
There are 341 Digimon across both games, each with base stats and evolution routes — browse them in the Digidex.

Platforms

What platforms is Cyber Sleuth on?
PS Vita and PS4 (original), and Nintendo Switch and PC via the Complete Edition. There is no Xbox version.
Is Cyber Sleuth on Switch?
Yes — the Complete Edition (with Hacker's Memory) launched on Switch and PC on October 18, 2019.

Gameplay

How does digivolution work?
You can freely digivolve and de-digivolve any Digimon as long as it meets the target's Level, stat, ABI and Camaraderie requirements. De-digivolving and re-raising boosts ABI so you can reach stronger forms — see the Digivolution Guide.
Which starter should I pick?
Palmon, Terriermon or Hagurumon. Palmon (→ Rosemon) is the classic pick, but it barely matters — you can turn any Digimon into almost any other. See Starters.
How does type effectiveness work?
A triangle: Vaccine beats Virus, Virus beats Data, and Data beats Vaccine — on top of elemental weaknesses (Fire, Water, and so on). Bring attackers that match each boss's weakness.
How long is Cyber Sleuth?
Around 40–50 hours for the main story, and roughly double that if you also play Hacker's Memory in the Complete Edition.
How do you get more Digimon?
Fight wild Digimon to raise their scan percentage; at 100%+ you can convert them into a usable Digimon. Scanning widely is how you build your roster.
