Which partner should I pick?
It doesn't affect power — all Partner Digimon are mechanically identical. Each starts as a Standard Type with the same skill. At Level 20 (3rd Digivolution) you choose a Battle Type — that's what determines your active and passive skills. So pick the partner you most want to look at all game.
Battle Types (chosen at Level 20)
Attack
DPSPure offense. Highest raw damage skills for fast clears, but the frailest of the three.
Defense
TankTanky bruiser. Trades damage for survivability — useful for tough dungeons and long fights.
SP
MetaThe meta pick — its Recovery branch is the strongest type in the game. Constant self-healing (+10% HP Recovery, heal 7% Max HP per skill) plus strong support damage. Best for stages, dungeons and PvP.
