Digimon World: Next Order Beginner's Guide
Next Order throws a lot of systems at you and explains few of them. Here's what actually matters in your first few hours so the early grind clicks instead of frustrates.
The core loop
You raise two partner Digimon at once. You feed them, train their stats, rest them, keep them clean and happy, and battle in the field — all of which builds toward the stats that trigger a digivolution. Recruiting field Digimon rebuilds the town of Floatia, which unlocks shops and services.
First-hours checklist
- Pick a strong starter pair — Koromon and Tsunomon give you two attackers with famous lines (see Starters).
- Answer their needs. Feed when hungry, let them use the toilet, rest when tired — ignoring these racks up care mistakes.
- Keep care mistakes low. They block many digivolutions and shorten lifespan — this is the single most important early habit.
- Train Speed, HP and MP first, then aim for a specific Champion using its requirements.
- Recruit everything. Befriending Digimon raises Floatia's prosperity and unlocks the facilities that make raising easier — see Recruitment.
Don't panic when they die
Digimon have a lifespan and will eventually pass on, reincarnating as an egg with a bit more inherited potential. This is the intended loop, not a failure — each generation starts a little stronger, so raising gets faster over time. The Tamer Skill Stat Inheritance (see Tamer Skills) speeds this up a lot.
