Digimon Survive Characters & Deaths
Digimon Survive is built around its cast of stranded students — and, unusually for a Digimon game, most of them can die depending on your choices, Karma route and affinity. Here's who's who, who dies, and how to save everyone.
The main cast
Takuma Momotsuka
The protagonist, partnered with Agumon. Your choices as Takuma set the Karma. Cannot die.
Minoru Hinata
Takuma's cheerful best friend, partnered with Falcomon. Cannot die.
Aoi Shibuya
Kind and responsible, partnered with Labramon. Can die on the Wrathful route.
Saki Kimijima
Confident upperclassman, partnered with Floramon. Can die on the Wrathful route.
Shuuji Kayama
Insecure and proud, partnered with Lopmon. Always dies on a first playthrough unless saved.
Ryo Tominaga
Quiet and troubled, partnered with Dracmon. Always dies on a first playthrough unless saved.
Kaito Shinonome
Hot-headed and protective of his sister, partnered with Gabumon. Can die on the Harmony route.
Miu Shinonome
Kaito's younger sister. Can die on the Harmony route.
Who dies (and when)
| Character | Fate |
|---|---|
| Takuma & Minoru | Never die. |
| Ryo & Shuuji | Always die on a first playthrough — savable only in New Game Plus. |
| Saki & Aoi | Die on the Wrathful route. |
| Kaito & Miu | Die on the Harmony route. |
How to save everyone
Saving the whole cast is only possible in New Game Plus, on the Truthful route. On that run you must keep Ryo and Shuuji alive by building their affinity:
- Ryo: affinity of at least 30 — aim for 40–45 to be safe.
- Shuuji: affinity of 35 or more.
- The key scene: when Shuuji is attacking Lopmon, high enough affinity makes Ryo intervene — Lopmon then digivolves into Turuiemon instead of Wendigomon, and both survive.
Build affinity by choosing to spend Free Time talking with each character and picking supportive dialogue. With Ryo and Shuuji saved on the Truthful route, everyone lives to see the end.
