Digimon Survive is a survival tactical-RPG wrapped in a visual novel: a group of students on a school camp are pulled into a strange world of Digimon and monsters, and must survive, make hard choices and find a way home. The story runs about 12 Parts, roughly 30–40 hours per route. Here's how to play it well.

How to play well

  • Choose for your route from the start. Dialogue choices set your Karma and lock your route at Part 8 — be consistent.
  • Build affinity in Free Time. Talking to human characters raises affinity, which changes who survives — and is required for the Truthful ending.
  • Learn the type triangle. Vaccine beats Virus, Virus beats Data, Data beats Vaccine, plus elemental weaknesses — position your Digimon to hit weaknesses on the grid.
  • Evolve mid-battle with SP. Digivolving in combat costs SP but massively boosts a Digimon — save it for tough fights and bosses.
